Organic and Handcrafted A/W 14 project...

For this project I had to choose 2 sustainable things to work around in order to create something for my Autumn/Winter 14 project.

These are my two mood boards to show organic and handicraft.

I have decided to look at knitwear as its for Autumn/Winter, and also because I could use organic materials and use handicraft skills to hand knit.

These are some of my hand knitting samples using 100% sheep wool and 100% cotton.

For more knitwear inspiration I used the knitwear trend forecast  on WGSN.

Fashion And Branding Project...

Inspiration to start my sketchbook...

The brand I had chosen was All Saints. I chose this brand as I sometimes shop at All Saints so I can relate to the brand, its customers and what its about. I love All Saints as its very quirky and unique. I then went to the All Saints shop in Leeds to do my shop report.

As my collection for this project is an autumn/winter collection I have decided to look into knitwear as All Saints have a massive knitwear range in autumn/winter.

Dead Fairytale Boards...

This is my theme mood board for my dead fairytale photoshop project.

This is my colour board.

And this is my shape and shilouette page.

My boards have been based on the theme of a dead fairytale. I have gathered inspiratio from magazines, my own ideas and the internet. I have been looking at soft materials and layering, I quite like the idea of knitwear and shall see where this takes me as I develop further into my project.

Vintage with a twist...

My initial idea was to look at the 1950's but so many people have looked at that period so I thought I would try and do something a bit different. Vintage with a twist is a mix up between modern day and the 50's vintage style.

This was my final dress design.

This was my final collar design for the dress.

This is my Final garment in a photo shoot that I have done. The final garment was made from a blue cotton material, and the collar was hand felted and sewn into using metallic thread and organza material. I was so pleased with how my ideas have inspired me to make such a simple but different piece. My finished garment turned out really well and as I hoped and I think the dress looks fantastic in the photo shoot.
